Technology available to support your neurodiversity
If you are neurodivergent, or find that you think, process information, or focus differently, there are a wide range of tools available to support the way you work.
These tools can help reduce overwhelm, improve focus, support communication, and make it easier to organise your thoughts and tasks.
Below is an overview of the different types of support available, and what they can help with:
- AI tools (such as Copilot) can help you draft emails, rewrite content, summarise information, and organise your thoughts
- Screen readers can read text aloud, which can support understanding, focus, and proofreading
- Dictation software allows you to speak instead of type, helping you capture ideas more naturally
- Mind mapping tools provide a visual way to organise ideas, which can reduce overwhelm and improve clarity
- Display settings (such as colour filters, contrast, and text size) can make content easier and more comfortable to read
- Task and planning tools help break work into manageable steps, making it easier to prioritise and stay on track
- Spelling and grammar tools support written communication by correcting errors and suggesting improvements
- Focus features (such as quiet time or do not disturb) can reduce interruptions and support concentration
These tools can support people with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and other cognitive differences, as well as anyone who experiences fatigue, brain fog, or difficulty concentrating. Many are built into your Windows computer or everyday software, and others can be added depending on your needs.
