Overview

Once the site is live, we will closely monitor its activity for a month after launch. We will be available to quickly respond to any issues, touch-ups, and bugs.

After this time, you won’t be left alone. We will still be on hand to support, but it will be at our usual response time. You can put a request in via Request support from the Digital Transformation Team – Somerset Council.

Content will continue to be managed by the digital team for the site’s lifetime. We do not generally pass over full ownership to services due to control over permissions and specialist training required.

We would be more than happy to organise website analytics reporting to go to you, or we can train you to use Silktide, so you can get analytics according to your needs.

Measure

There are many ways to measure success and problems with a website.

The digital team will continue to monitor all sites we have built via Silktide. Silktide will flag any issues such as spelling, broken links, visitor behaviour, frustration level and reading age. Sites are tested every 5 days, and the content team will periodically review each site.

Our core site and microsites also have a built-in feedback banner at the bottom of every webpage. This allows users to provide feedback on any issues on pages, good or bad. Depending on how much information we receive, we will action bugs as soon as possible or create a ticket for our technical backlog, so we can examine the journey as a whole.

As a service, it will be up to you to decide what other measures for “what good looks like” will be. We will be more than happy to provide you with website analytics reports or train you on how to use Silktide so you can obtain information when needed.

Decommission

If a website is no longer needed, please advise us accordingly so we can either merge or remove the site and its contents.

We need to be informed if sites can be removed, so that we can save time and money on sites that are no longer supported.
